Ok i've been playing galaxies for about a year now, but this problem has been happening for about a month or more but it seems to be getting worse, while i'm in the middle of playing galaxies, my computer shuts itself down completely, I have no idea why this is happening but when I go to start it up again it says "CPU Over Temperure error" and then it shuts itself down again, I usually have to wait for about 10 mins to allow it to start itself up again, can anyone give me an idea what may be happening? and what I should do??

Your processor is overheating. Make sure the fan is working correctly and what not as you can fairly easily ruin your processor =p
Your computer's broke

No it didn't, I just need to replace the cooling fan that's all doofus, it's not a big deal since I can replace that easily Tongue

Hence the term "Your computer's broke"

Do you play other games with that kind of graphics demand? Try it to see if you get the same overheat.

DISCLAIMER: I'm just a layperson, I know nothing about computers. Don't take my advice Tongue
Fans go bad, including the video card fan. Best get that cleaned up too.
Hehe, no one has thought that maybe Cillian's computer is tired of SOE's crap too?

:vespa:
That was the first thing we thought of Kirbs, but just didn't say it cause it was too obvious
Recommend moving to Chicago. It's a windchill of about -20 now, that should keep the CPU cool enough...

Pittsburgh
Cillian and I live in Ontario, it's plenty cold if you just open the window a crack
I know i had this same exactproblem til i bought a second cpu but wat u need to do get is a can of dust cleaner(long needletube) air out your fans and replace any faulty fans then make sure that the Chasis is well ventilated and air tight. if all else fails replace the processor fan or your 3-d card or it's fan
