2010 actually would be the start of the new decade in most cultures, including the ones all (most?) of us live in.
Well if there was a year 0 BC/AD then yes, 2010 is the start of a new decade. If it was just 1 BC/AD then it would be 1-10, 11-20, ect as the decades.
I'm not sure there was a year 0 or not actually. Believe it or not, I wasn't around then. I am thinking there wasn't though.

There wasn't. That doesn't mean humans make any kind of logical sense. 2010 is the start of a 'decade' as we keep track of them. Otherwise 1960 wouldn't be part of the '60s.' Look it up if you don't believe me
