It should be noted that XvT came out 10 years ago today. I still had hair, and a pony tail back then.
Happy B-day XvT, even though I didn't know you that well
No kidding? Damn. How cool is that. XvT rules. Even bought a useless SG video card for that thing. Yeah, the infamous 3D decelerator. Oops. Confusedtarfyre:

Happy birfday!
You know, I can't remember what I bought. I remember getting a new computer right when XvT came out. It must have been a Diamond something or another.

Jayce

I didn't start playing until 2000. Until '99 my computer was a 486/66 Digital brand...not great for gaming.
I got net service in spring of 98, and joined LSF at the same time. I guess that gives me nine years. I actually still have the original email I got when I joined.

Summer of the same year is when I joined LSF.

And hey Pallos Wink
Late spring of 1997.. In fact, it was this week in '97 because I bought the game nearly the same day it came out.. Yupyup.. I'm an oldie.
Summer 1996 -- Dragon Con -- Ghent showing me some sketches and writings regarding LSF.
fall of '96, and I not only had a POS for a computer, I played on 28.8 dial-up once I joined LSF while playing in the Zone
Yup, had a voodoo extreme vidcard with SLI ability w00t!
Believe I was using a Compaq 300 mhz. 28.8 internal modem. Later on I moved up to a bleeding edge Diamond 56k external modem.

Remember how we all jumped when someone who had a covetted cable line said they would host?
I used to host them at work with the t1. I remember not getting home until 4am one night because you guys wouldn't let me stop hosting. Boy it was cold. I think that is when JKII came out 6 months or so later.
Yeah, those late-night flying sessions with Arch were the bestest. Arch's T1 = <3.. at least at the time.
I miss XvT...and JK2.. sigh =(
